WaterSound was created on 256 acres of magnificent landscape along Northwest Florida's Scenic Highway 30-A. JOE's very first WaterSound neighborhood, WaterSound Beach was inspired by the land and sea surrounding it. Blessed with talcum white sands, towering dunes, and a natural stand of tall pines, it’s a beautiful place to call home that continues in a tradition of seaside settlements that have evolved along the shores over time.
WaterSound Beach promises to be that rare place that combines the spirit of community with the pleasures of a private waterfront retreat. Its distinct coastal environment inspired the design of WaterSound Beach—an architectural collaboration between Robert A. M. Stern, Cooper Robertson & Partners, Graham Gund and EDAW. The town plan takes its direction from the environment itself, with engaging wooden pathways and pedestrian bridges that gently meander through the natural openings and contours of the dunescape, providing access to the white sandy beach and emerald green waters of the Gulf. |
At WaterSound Beach, all paths lead to the sea. Wake to the sound of waves gently rolling on white sandy shores. Stroll along pathways that wind among homes with northerly clapboard, shingles, shutters and shakes through the natural openings of dunes to the emerald green waters of the Gulf.
Go for a swim at Bridges Pool House, then pack a lunch to eat on a grassy space near the traditional yacht pond inspired by the beloved water features of classic parks such as Central Park and Luxembourg Gardens. Practice your stroke at a putting green, or browse the market at The Gatehouse.
Beyond the gates of WaterSound Beach runs Scenic Highway 30-A, a stretch of road with a wide walkway that hosts pedestrians, rollerbladers and bikers and is peppered with a variety of restaurants, galleries, town festivals and other fun outdoor events. With incomparable Gulf Coast views, few roads are as beautiful or as much fun to explore.
